A 20-minute story time for children and their caregiver is followed by open play time with a variety of age-appropriate, educational toys. Story time includes plenty of fingerplays, songs, or other participatory activities that help children learn important literacy skills.

Each weekly session will include a hands-on cooking lesson that focuses on a specific nutritional element, food group, cooking principle, or history of food. Sessions include a snack for attendees. All supplies will be provided.

Help your child get ready to read with hands-on activities designed to promote early literacy skills. Sort fruits and veggies, build a bouquet, and practice motor skills with a balancing bee learning toy. Learn about farms and pollination through activity sheets and props.

Need a button sewn on or a patch for a hole in your jeans? Come to Washington Park Library where we'll have someone here to do simple repairs for free. Our wonderful volunteer will be here twice a month to help you get more out of your existing wardrobe.
